Guanabana is one of the first Latin Caribbean restaurants in London, specializing cuisine across the Caribbean and Latin America, so be sure to see delicacies such as; Jamaican jerk chick, curry goat, fresh fish and delights from Colombia and Mexico (yes I’m drooling as I write this review).

Guanabana put heart and soul in the kitchen, everything is done to perfection and every ingredient is sourced from the most trusted of suppliers. For those of us that simply want to devour meat, Guanabana have some of the meanest steaks and burgers on planet earth, all sourced from local purveyors only premium cuts are accepted. Here at Lehotspots, we believe that if you’re going to visit a Latin Caribbean restaurant, you should eat the most traditional of meals hence why we recommend; the famous chargrilled, half jerk, baby chicken served with jerk barbecue sauce and mango chutney.

We all strive (well we should strive) to get an A* in whatever subject we part take in during our schooling years, however just like an exam every restaurant on planet earth strives to get a Michelin star rating (see the comparison). Gymkhana has done exactly that gaining infamy in the culinary world and winning the award of best restaurant 2014 at the National Restaurant Awards even though only opened in 2013.

Inspired by colonial Indian Gymkhana clubs, created for those among the prestigious high society, to socialize, dine, drink and play sport. Gymkhana specializes in contemporary Indian cuisine using British ingredients, with great emphasis on the tandoori oven, breaking the norm and changing the way Indian cuisine is looked at forever. Chef restaurateur Karam Sethi’s pledge to Indian culinary tradition and determination to please and tantalize the European palate, has ignited a surge of interest and one of the most compelling restaurants ever.

We would highly recommend that you treat your taste buds to; South Indian fried Chicken Wings with Tomato Chutney or Tandoori Scallops, Artichokes and Masala as a starter followed by Lasooni wild Tiger Prawns and red pepper chutney as the main course.

We could easily tell you what this experience is perfect for however, the uniqueness of this venue has a different impact on each individual that walks through their doors, pay your visit and see for yourself just why this is the place to be and be seen right now.

This the décor of this venue can only be described in one word… Elegance. Ceiling fans that hang from a dark-lacquered oak ceiling, cut glass wall lamps from Jaipur and hunting trophies from the Maharaja of Jodhpu are all on show for you and me to be mesmerized.

We all love success stories, especially if that story entails good food, succulent burgers and frozen custard (well we are Lehotspots) and one venue that has all of these qualities is shake shack. Starting as a hotdog stand in New York, Shake shack was an instant hit, attracting hundreds of hungry mouths day in day out consecutively for three summers.

In 2004 Shake Shack opened a permanent kiosk, further showing there their expertise in the culinary arts of “quality modern day fast food” attracting attention from far and wide, the rest is burger history.

Shake shack take pride in good food and good ingredients, every burger is 100% all natural Angus beef and believe you me this shows in the texture and flavour of the upper-echelon burgers served at this menu. Shake shack have also pioneered The Shroom burger for you veggie lovers.

We would highly recommend that you try the Shack burger; Cheese burger and Shroom burger topped with lettuce, tomato and Shack sauce accompanied with fries and the ShackMeister Dog; Topped with Shack cheddar and American cheese sauce and crispy ShackMeister Ale-marinated shallots for simple yet mind blowing flavours.

Although the menu is changed every three months, tradition is always kept at the heart of Bayleaf restaurant. Using traditional cooking methods with every dish that is prepared, this means old classics are shaped to fit the new era of Indian cuisine. We would recommend; starter as Chilli Paneer Diced cottage cheese tossed in a wok with green & red peppers, spring onions, cooked in a special chilli sauce. Accompanied by Lamb Kata Masala (served with kesari pilau rice) Lamb tikka cooked with chopped green peppers, onions, tomatoes and ginger in a spicy thick yoghurt based sauce as a main course.

Stax Diner has brought back the heart and soul of American diners, chances are by the end of the night you will be pulling out vinyls of your old soul and blues records just to keep the memory alive. Bea Vo has without a doubt created a classic restaurant with masterworks such as the Cajun Onion Blossom, Comeback Sauce, Fried Green Tomatoes and the amazing Popcorn Shrimp Po’ Boy, not to mention the prominent Diner Classics such as Stax Wild Blueberry Pancakes and Brioche French Toast with Roasted Strawberries.
