Caravan

Caravan (kings cross)

King's Cross has become quite the food destination lately, with trendy Gastro pubs, ice cream/dessert parlours and cute little stalls serving amazing street food.
Amongst all of this, you'll find the second branch of the antipodean run restaurant Caravan.
The restaurant has a cool, trendy feel with low lighting, exposed bricks and an open kitchen which is visible behind a metal grate. The vibe is chilled and relaxed but buzzy as the chatter of fellow happy diners fills the room.

The menu is made up of many international dishes described as 'well traveled food', designed to be shared. We went for a few 'small plates' of ; smoked Scottish salmon with avocado and chilli, coconut lime chicken salad, chick pea chips and braised Welsh lamb sofrito with butter beans, almonds and salsa verde. All were cooked to perfection and more than enough for three people to share.

However, if you are not in a very sharing mood (the food is so good you probably won't want to share lol) then perhaps go for a pizza or a 'large plate', we recommend the potato gnocchi with wild mushroom, Jerusalem artichoke cream and kale.

Caravan also offer pudding, a selection of English cheese, smooth coffees and hand crafted cocktails, so there is something for everyone. If you find yourself there on a weekend, why not try something from the brunch menu, we're obsessed with the coconut bread with lemon curd cream cheese and rhubarb.
This restaurant is perfect for a bite to eat anytime of the day, the modern decor and adventurous menu makes is a great place to catch up with friends.

Vapiano

Vapiano (Lehotspots verified)

Smart-Casual: Good afternoon spotters, we all love fresh food, with fresh flavours and its a well known fact that we eat with our eyes, as much as we do with our mouths. Hence why today we give you Vapiano, the place to find the finest homemade pasta, pizza, fresh salad, antipasti and mouth watering dolci. Upon entrance you're given a Vapiano swipe card, this is to register your order as chefs prepare and cook your meal in front of you, teasing you as you wait to indulge in your freshly prepared feast.

Vapiano is a laid back restaurant, boasting an amazing atmosphere, forever buzzin with conversation, giggles float through the air as everyone dives head first into their meal. Vapiano goes by the ethos, that "if you have a easy-going and relaxed approach to life, you will live more healthily and longer" and this exact way of thinking is what has gained this venue so much success, the experience is so laid back, it almost feels as if thou you are at home eating around your dining table. I would Highly recommend that you indulge in the prawn and beef salad (extra prawns and beef please).

Perfect for a day out with a group of friends or discussing business in a chilled environment.

Decor is sleek, sharp and modern, not over crowded yet not to spacious, perfect for socialising and intimate meals.

Ice and Slice (Lehotspots Verified)

Smart-Casual: Good afternoon Spotters, unfortunately we all live a life, that at some point we all have a terrible pizza experience. You know what I mean; greasy, burnt, mind bogglingly atrocious, Sloppy Joe pizza, that turns your stomach to a point of sickness, However worry no more as we have the answer to your pizza prayers. Ice and Slice situated in Jerdan Place, is the home of authentic Roman-style pizza, made from homemade sour doe containing no artificial yeast, no milk, no oils and no sweeteners or preservatives, giving you nothing but natural bread and scrumptious flavours.

Ice and Slice have truly changed the pizza game, upping the standards of a culinary art that has continually changed over the years, yet still kept its authentic feel. The Pizza's are 70 Cm long feeding up to 6 people! well 2 when it comes to Lehotspots (Big taste's appetite is to blame). To makes matters even better, Ice and Slice serves up traditional Italian gelato is made and pasteurised daily in very small batches (four liters) with no added colour, artificial flavours. Fortnum & Mason

Fortnum & Mason “The Diamond Jubilee Tea Room” (Lehotspots verified)
Smart-casual: Good afternoon spotters, I’m guessing and hope that most of us are familiar with Furtnum & Mason and the ultra-tranquil Diamond Jubilee Tea Room. That’s with the belief that we all live on planet earth and indulge in fine afternoon tea like the rest of normal civilization. For those of us that were unfortunate to be born on the planet mars, fear no more, as we about to give you down low on the pinnacle of tranquillity.
Without a shadow of a doubt Fortnum & Mason “The Diamond Jubilee Tea Room” (opened by HM The Queen herself), is that little bit of perfection that we all crave and desire. Showcasing in my opinion the most heavenly interior I have ever seen and the perfect venue to practice self-possession & gain self-composure, to complete your hectic day. Boasting one of the most perfect selection of Traditional tea’s, Champagne tea’s, Classic blend tea’s, Fortnum’s single estate tea’s and many more, The Diamond Jubilee experience is one that can hardly be topped. With Tearistas there to help you every step of the way, on your trip to the land of serenity.
Perfect for finding your inner peace, appreciate the finer things in life and unwinding after a long day.

The georgian

The Georgian Restaurant “Harrods” (Lehotspots verified)
Smart-Elegant: Good afternoon spotters, we are all familiar with Harrods, every shopper’s first choice for elegant garments, made from the finest of materials. However, not many of us know about the hidden gem that is situated in the possibly the world’s most famous retailer, none other than The Georgian Restaurant, the true personification of perfection and excellence. Having been open since 1913 the Georgian have recently joined forces with bespoke interior designer, Christopher Guy Harrison, using his precise craftsmanship, the iconic restaurant has transformed into a true work of art of the 21st century.
Never before has modernism and classicism been mixed to such a high level, taking the elegance from the 1920’s and combining it the cutting edge pizzazz of today’s interior design. Many would even consider this venue to be the finest destination for Afternoon Champagne tea. Guests are treated to Harrods rose Champagne accompanied by delicate sandwiches and savouries, a imaginative array of freshly prepared tea pastries as well as traditional baked scones served with clotted cream, strawberry jam and homemade lemon curd… of course this comes with strawberries served with a Pimm’s syrup, this is Harrods after all.
Perfect for having that little bit of luxury with your afternoon tea that we all crave.
Décor is modern yet still classic, combining modernism and classicism to perfection.

Gallery Mess

Gallery Mess (Lehotspots verified)

Smart-casual: Good afternoon spotters, there are many of us that appreciate art, whether it be art through fashion, paintings, drawing or even sculptures. However there are very few places that incorporate art with food and Gallery Mess is one of them, having gained fanatical reviews from visitors for its stunning setting, amiable atmosphere and tremendous food. The venue is stunning showcasing exposed brickwork, vaulted ceilings and display of art (enough art to delight all who take a peak), the wisely selected interior delivers the perfect location for a banquet, casual lunch or drinks with whomever you choose to accompany you.

Apart from unfathomable aesthetics, including a giant shoe (our favourite piece of art… just saying) Gallery Mess also boasts a seasonal menu, forever evolving, with daily specials that unlike many other restaurants are actually worth the price tag. We would recommend that you try Seafood platter for 1 or 2 people, Oysters, crab, prawns and shellfish accompanied by ½ or a whole lobster.

Perfect for indulging in the meal of dreams, while either getting in touch with your artistic side or
staring at mind boggling pieces of art with friends, family, or business partners.

Décor is sophisticated and showcases art that will leave you blown away.
